Feature Updates to the "ASPO" Add-in Series for Plant Design and Fabrication

ASPO Support Fab expands to 22 types of steel supports and adds automatic dimension adjustment.
ASPO Spool Manager enhances integration with Autodesk Forma.

Feature updates have been released for "ASPO," an add-in series designed to improve efficiency in plant design and fabrication workflows.

With this update, "ASPO Support Fab," which supports the creation of fabrication drawings for piping supports, now supports a total of 22 types of steel supports and adds a new feature that automatically adjusts dimensions to match supporting surfaces.

"ASPO Spool Manager," which supports spool drawing creation, has also enhanced its integration with Autodesk Forma, enabling smoother data coordination from design through fabrication preparation.

Key Updates to ASPO Support Fab

1. Expanded Support for 22 Types of Steel Supports

ASPO Support Fab now supports a total of 22 types of steel supports, including supports for horizontal and vertical piping.

Base plate types can now be changed according to design requirements.

For certain support types, users can now select different steel member configurations. Support for additional steel members will be added progressively.

2. [New Feature] Automatic Dimension Adjustment

Dimensions of supports can now be automatically adjusted to match supporting surfaces.

Dimensions such as support leg lengths are automatically extended or shortened based on supporting surfaces, including structural solids and reference floor elevations (EL). This helps reduce the manual work required to adjust dimensions after supports have been placed.

3. Improved Fabrication Drawing Display

The display of fabrication drawings has been improved to prevent annotations and dimensions from overlapping with components. Leader lines for member labels now prioritize horizontal placement, and diagonal dimensions are positioned on the side where they do not cross components.

In addition, the measurement position for angle steel cross-sectional dimensions has been moved to the bottom of the column, and hidden lines (dashed lines) are now displayed for steel members in certain support types.

Key Updates to ASPO Spool Manager

Enhanced Autodesk Forma Integration

Integration of welding information and other data has been enhanced, making it easier to verify data consistency before integration with Autodesk Forma.

Information configured in Spool Manager can now be transferred to Autodesk Forma through weld markers. The system has also been improved to reduce unnecessary recreation of weld markers, making it easier to continue using existing data.

Users can now verify whether weld markers are consistent with the latest weld data.

About the ASPO Series

“ASPO” is a series of add-ins that leverages model information from Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D to streamline data workflows from plant design through construction preparation.

The series consists of “ASPO Support Fab,” which supports the creation of fabrication drawings for piping supports, and “ASPO Spool Manager” (patent pending), which supports spool drawing creation. Following the release of the beta versions in late April 2026, the official versions were launched in August 2026.

An Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D environment is required to use these products.
